Celloglas celebrates the best-in-class illustrators across the globe.
We’re pleased to be back in the hotseat with leading creative magazine Computer Arts. Our first appearance alongside the publication this year sees us finishing its issue #290 – a beautiful print finishing project and not to mention it’s got us in the mood for summer!
The first technique you’re likely to spot when you see the cover is a warming copper foil peppered throughout the design. We used a textured dye for the ‘design matters’ logo, which creates a softer, more subtle look. Alongside this, we’ve also copper-foiled certain instances of type to grab the reader’s attention and accentuate important wording such as ‘illustrators’. We used a gloss silk screen UV to give the characters on the beach and the sea a glossy look.
One of our newer products, introduced towards the end of 2018, ‘Stipple varnish’ has been used on the cover to emulate the sand. We’re excited as this is one of the first times this new finish has been used on a magazine front cover.
