A look back on 2018 at Celloglas
It’s been another busy year for Celloglas and Mirri – and we’re not about to slow down anytime soon. Here, we take a look back over a brilliant year and let you in on what we’ll be up to over the coming months.
The big move
Following on from the Boxing Day floods of 2015, we took the decision to re-locate to new premises on the Cross Green Garth Industrial Estate in Leeds – and we’ve since gone from strength to strength. The move has meant we’ve been able to update our machinery and invest in the latest innovative technology. We now have more room for production and continue to offer more proficient finishing operations and customer service.
Raising awareness of Mirri’s capabilities
It’s been a big year for Mirri, as this unrivalled product continues to help propel brands via packaging and promotional material that simply exudes luxury and elegance. However, we’re very aware that unless you’re in the presence of Mirri, it’s difficult to truly understand its innovation and far-reaching capabilities. So that said, we’ve continued in our mission to not only shout about Mirri but physically show the endless possibilities that come from working with it. From the Mirri Wow Pack, which was sent out earlier this year and based on Pantone’s Colour of the Year Ultra Violet, to another successful stint exhibiting at Packaging Innovations, we’ve put time into spreading the word. What’s more, keep an eye out early next year for A Guide to Mirri, which we’ll be sending out to distributors, designers and printers to provide inspiration for how they can harness Mirri’s true potential.
Building out Celloglas’ accreditations
We’re delighted to have added to our certifications this year. Our staff and facilities were awarded AA BRC certification to show we meet exemplary hygiene standards in our finishing operations. It was great news for every area of the business but particularly where our food-safe lamination is concerned as customers can now have every confidence that we meet global standards and all our work is handled in a hygienic manner.
We also achieved the BPIF HR Seal of Excellence Award as well as the H&S Seal of Excellence Award. We’re keen to add to the two accolades in the not too distant future and secure the BPIF Environmental Seal of Excellence.
Investing in a bright future
We’ve spent a significant amount on upgrading our machinery and technology, including the purchase of a new state-of-the-art foiler for our Leicester base. This impressive piece of kit has enabled us to brilliantly increase our foil blocking capabilities and give us a superb competitive edge. We can print up to 7,500 sheets per hour and can have three separate pulls on standard long edge to long edge.
After such a busy but successful year, we’re excitedly heading into 2019! We wish all our customers a merry Christmas and a very happy new year!
